Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said the government does not wants to interfere with any other country’s internal matter.
He, however, warned that if their internal conflict creates a negative impact, Bangladesh has the capacity to respond to it.
The minister came up with the warning while addressing the final parade ceremony of the Border Guard Bangladesh’s (BGB) 98th recruit batch at Border Guard Training Centre and College (BGTCC) in Satkania of Chattogram at noon.
He said, “We have heard that Myanmar government forces are fighting against the Arakan Army on the Bangladesh border. Some separatist groups are always fighting against the Myanmar government. This is an internal matter of Myanmar. We have no connection with these incidents.”
The Home Minister said the government has increased the number of BGB personnel in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban and Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar. They (BGB) have been ordered to prevent any intrusion on the border.
Public Security Division’s senior secretary Md Akhter Hosain, BGB Director General Major General Shakil Ahmed and BGTCC Commandant Brigadier General Mashiur Rahman were present at the ceremony.
