Sirens have been activated across central Israel after a ballistic missile was fired at the city of Tel Aviv from Yemen, the Israeli military has said, reports Al Jazeera.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service in Tel Aviv has announced that at least 14 people are now confirmed injured as a result of a missile strike.
The Times of Israel reports that a fire is burning in Tel Aviv, “possibly as a result of an impact by the missile from Yemen”.
Footage posted by several Palestinian and Israeli news outlets reportedly shows a missile striking the city. No casualties have been reported so far.
The Israeli military’s Arabic spokesman Avichay Adraee said that “unsuccessful interception attempts were made” on a missile fired from Yemen towards the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.
