Hassan Jaafar al-Qasir, the son-in-law of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah who was killed last week in Israeli strike, was also killed in an Israeli airstrike in Damascus on Wednesday, AFP, News Central reported.
News Central published this information citing Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
“Hassan Jaafar al-Qasir was among two Lebanese victims of the Israeli airstrike which targeted an apartment in a residential building in the Mazze district of Damascus,” said the SOHR.
The strike comes just days after another Israeli attack in Beirut killed several high-profile figures linked to Hezbollah, including al-Qasir, a source close to Hezbollah confirmed al-Qasir’s death to AFP.
The raid is part of an escalating series of Israeli strikes in Syria and Lebanon, as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continue to rise. Israel frequently targets Iranian and Hezbollah-linked assets in Syria, citing security threats along its northern border.
