Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kan’ani has strongly condemned the Israeli strikes against Yemen’s “civilian infrastructure” such as a power plant and fuel tanks, Press TV reports.
“The Zionist regime’s move to attack Yemen and the country’s civilian and service infrastructure is a blatant and repeated violation of the United Nations Charter,” Kan’ani said in a statement on Sunday.
He commended Yemen’s support for the oppressed people of Palestine, who have been the target of Israel’s genocidal war since October last year.
The Iranian spokesman added that the international community has a responsibility to stand against the Israeli regime’s repeated defiance of international law.
The Israeli military (IDF) said in a statement on Sunday that its warplanes launched air raids on the port of Ras Isa in Yemen’s strategic western province of Hudaydah, striking al-Hali and al-Khateeb power plants as well as “sensitive” facilities belonging to Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement in the area.
