The United States on Thursday called on China to choose diplomacy rather than military pressure over Taiwan after Beijing deployed warships following a meeting by the its leader with the US House speaker, reports AFP.
"We continue to urge Beijing to cease its military, diplomatic and economic pressure against Taiwan and instead engage in meaningful diplomacy," State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said.
The cold war between US and China over Taiwan has a long history which increases time to time.
