The President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), Taskeen Ahmed, on behalf of the Board of Directors, expressed deep grief and condolences over the death of Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Begum Khaleda Zia was the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh and the second female Prime Minister among Muslim-majority nations. She also served as Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), one of the country’s largest political parties, until her passing.
She played a pioneering role in establishing democratic governance in Bangladesh and dedicated her life to safeguarding the socio-economic and democratic rights of the people—a legacy that will be remembered with the highest respect.
DCCI prayed to Almighty Allah to grant her soul eternal peace and Jannah.
Begum Khaleda Zia, aged 80, passed away on Tuesday morning at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka while undergoing treatment.
