The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, three-time former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), reports BSS.
In a condolence message, the nation’s apex trade body highlighted Begum Khaleda Zia’s enduring contributions and decades-long struggle to uphold democracy and protect the rights of the people of Bangladesh.
"With her passing, the nation has lost an honest and patriotic leader. Through her prolonged struggle and unwavering leadership, the nation consistently found inspiration for freedom. The business community also benefited from her support during critical moments," the message from FBCCI Administrator Md Abdur Rahim Khan read.
The FBCCI also prayed for the eternal peace of Begum Khaleda Zia’s soul and conveyed its deepest sympathies to her bereaved family.
