Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur has said the central bank will prioritise the interest of the banks' customers.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists on contemporary issues of the country’s financial sector at Bangladesh Bank's head office in the capital’s Motijheel on Monday (November 18).
The governor said some banks are doing better after the political changeover of the country. Of these banks, Islami Bank, the largest bank in the private sector, has gained momentum.
Mentioning that no institution will be closed, Ahsan H Mansur said the country couldn’t be operated excluding those who work or will work for the institution. None can be dismissed from the job in mass.
The central bank is helping the banks after observing the progress of reformation. However, all banks won’t get liquidity assistance, he added.
