Jewellers have lowered the price of gold by Tk3,453 to Tk1,38,708 per bhori (11.664 grams) amid a tariff drop on pure gold in the local market.

Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) made the decision at a meeting of the standing committee on pricing and price monitoring on Thursday.

The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk11,892 per gram, while it is Tk11,351 for 21-carat gold, read a press release signed by the committee Chairman Masudur Rahman.

The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk9,730 a gram, while that of traditional gold is at Tk7,987 a gram. The new tariffs will come into effect on Friday, the release added.

The price of 22-carat silver is Tk225 per gram, 21-carat Tk214, 18-carat Tk184, and traditional silver Tk138 a gram.
