A four-member delegation from Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC), led by its chairman Mahbubur Rahman, met Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed at his office in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
The delegation included BIAC Vice-chairman Mohammad A (Rumi) Ali, Chief Executive Officer KAM Mazedur Rahman and former senior secretary Mohammad Shahidul Haque.
Expanding the use of arbitration in Bangladesh came up for discussions during the meeting.
The Chief Justice assured the delegation that the Supreme Court would take necessary steps in this regard.
The BIAC delegation described the Chief Justice’s roadmap for judicial reforms as a timely initiative.
