As part of different anti-drug drives in the capital, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 12 people and filed nine cases on charges of selling and consuming drugs, reports BSS.
According to a release issued by the DMP, police conducted these operations against the drug sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations of the metropolis during the last 24 hours till 6am Saturday.
They also detained a total of 12 people and recovered a huge amount of drugs from their possession.
During the raids, police seized 97 yaba tablets, 340 grams of cannabis (ganja) and 23 pieces of tapentadol tablets along with phensidyl syrup from them, the release added.
Police filed nine separate cases against the arrested persons with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
