The European Union's (EU) Special Representative for Human Rights, Eamon Gilmore, arrived in Dhaka on Monday on a six-day tour.
Acting foreign secretary Rear Admiral (Retd.) Khurshed Alam received Eamon Gilmore at the airport in the morning.
According to the draft visit schedule, the EU special representative will meet National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) chairman Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed, and Prime Minister's principal secretary Tofazzal Hossain Mia.
He will also meet and exchange views with the representatives of civil society, representatives of the minority community, and representatives of the various organisations of the United Nations based in Dhaka.
On July 27, Eamon Gilmore will visit Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar to observe the situation of the displaced Rohingyas.
