The day temperature may rise slightly in many places across the country, said the weather department on Tuesday.
According to the latest weather bulletin of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country.
The land depression over Chattisgarh and adjoining areas moved west-northwestwards and now lies over West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas. It is likely to weaken gradually.
The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, the centre of the Land Depression, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
The day temperature may rise slightly and the night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius in Tetulia and the minimum temperature was 24.8 degrees Celsius in Ishurdi of Pabna.
The met office said the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours (Till 6 am Tuesday) was recorded at 55mm in M Court of Chattogram.
