Bangladesh will face Nepal in the SAFF Women’s Championship 2024 final after the host nation defeated India 4-2 in a penalty shootout in the second semi-final held at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu Sunday, reports Dhaka Tribune.
The match ended 1-1 after normal time as Nepal came from behind to equalize.
The final will be held at the same venue Wednesday.
Earlier, in the first semi-final on the same day, Bangladesh thrashed Bhutan 7-1, with Tahura Khatun scoring a hat-trick and captain Sabina Khatun adding two goals.
Nepal were Bangladesh’s opponent in the last SAFF Women’s Championship final at the same venue two years ago, where Sabina and Co outplayed the home side 3-1 to clinch their maiden title.
