Afghanistan beat Pakistan by 8 wickets in 49 overs in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Monday.
Opener Ibrahim Zadran scored 87 runs off 113 balls while Rahmat Shah scored 77 runs off 84 balls and Rahmanullah Gurbaz smashed 65 runs off 53 balls.
Pakistan bowler Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali bagged one wicket each.
In the first innings, Pakistan posted a challenging 282 runs in 50 overs losing 7 wickets.
Skipper Babar Azam smashed 74 runs off 92 balls while opener Abdullah Shafique scored 58 runs from 75 balls.
Afghan bowler Noor Ahmad bagged 3 wickets and Naveen-ul-Haq bagged 2 wickets while Mohammad Nabi and Azmatullah Omarzai got one wicket each.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first.
