The government's major projects will gradually be unveiled in October, which include the third terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the Karnaphuli River's Bangabandhu Tunnel, rail operations on the Padma Bridge, the Agargaon to Motijheel metro rail, the Akhaura-Agartala dual-gauge rail line, and a portion of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.
Additionally, awaiting the inauguration of the Purbachal Expressway and some projects by BRT.
Due to these projects, the communication system of the country will be easy. Employment will increase. New doors of possibilities will open. Political analysts believe that these mega projects can be the 'tram card' of the ruling party to pass the 12th National Assembly elections.
As these visible development projects will attract young voters, they believe that these achievements will also benefit in election campaigns. Top leaders of the ruling party said that development surprises await the countrymen before the polls. Awami League president Sheikh Hasina will hold a rally at the district and divisional levels before the National Assembly elections. Besides inaugurating the mega project, he will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of the local development project. With the gift of development, he will ask for votes in a boat in the parliamentary elections.
General Secretary of Awami League and the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader told Bangladesh Pratidin, “Awami League is in power for three consecutive terms under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter.”
“There has been unprecedented development across the country. From the city to the village, there is a touch of development everywhere. That is why development will win in the upcoming national elections. People are watching the development. People will vote for development. If the election is fair, 70 per cent of the people will vote us. People are eager to vote for Sheikh Hasina.”
After coming to power, Awami League undertook many big projects. The people of the country have started getting the benefits of many of them. Among these are self-financed projects including Padma Bridge, Elevated Expressway, Metro Rail. In addition to the inauguration of these mega projects, Awami League will also hold public meetings under the guise of peaceful gatherings in those areas. Any development that takes place will be communicated if it is in continuous power. The people of the country will be urged to continue the government with the gift of development.
The third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will be inaugurated on October 7. Those concerned believe that the message of developing Bangladesh will reach the world after this terminal is fully operational. A rally is scheduled to be held in the capital on that day.
Rail movement on Padma Bridge will be inaugurated on October 10. Trains have already run experimentally on the bridge. On that day, a rally will be organized on both banks of Padma. The Agargaon to Motijheel section of the metro rail will be inaugurated on October 20. On this occasion, a rally will be organized at Suhrawardy Udyan.
The Bangabandhu Tunnel under the Karnaphuli River in Chattogram will be inaugurated on October 28. This will be the first tunnel between South Asian countries. On this occasion, the ruling party will hold a public meeting in Anwara on the other side of Karnaphuli river. This tunnel connects Chattogram city with Anwara upazila. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be present in all the rallies.
Communications experts stated that the tunnel would become 'two cities in one city' and a passageway under the Karnaphuli River. The inauguration of the Padma Bridge will increase Bangladesh's gross domestic product (GDP) by more than 2 per cent, partly through the metro rail and the Bangabandhu Tunnel.
Efforts are being made to launch Dhaka-Cox's Bazar direct rail link in the same month. However, the railway line has been damaged by recent torrential water and floods. Its repair work is progressing rapidly. Cox's Bazar railway station is being developed as the country's first iconic station. The size of the station building is 1 lakh 82 thousand square feet. By doing this, the transportation system of ordinary passengers including tourists will go one step further.
A part of Rooppur nuclear power plant is opening in October, although the date is not fixed. Through which Bangladesh will enter the era of nuclear power plant. Among other major projects, the date of inauguration of Padma rail link project and Dohazari-Cox's Bazar railway line has not been fixed. However, a summary has been sent from the ministry seeking the prime minister's time.
Akhaura-Agartala and Khulna-Mongla railway lines are awaiting inauguration. The work of the Bangabandhu Rail Bridge over the Jamuna River is almost complete. The foundation stone of Metro Rail Line-5 Northern Route will be laid in October.
Apart from this, Purbachal Expressway is awaiting inauguration. One of the most beautiful and attractive expressways in Southeast Asia, the Dhaka-Sylhet highway is connected to the capital. The state-of-the-art expressway does not have any stopover points, signaling signs or any other obstacles. A car will cover a distance of 12 km in 6-7 minutes.
Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak told Bangladesh Pratidin, 'The country has developed due to the continuity of the government. I call upon the countrymen to continue the progress of this development. What developments have been made in three consecutive terms, I am presenting them in front of the people. I hope the people of the country will choose Awami League for development. Bangabandu's daughter will be elected Prime Minister for the fourth consecutive term.
