“Bangladesh Pratidin is the most circulated newspaper in the country. From the beginning, Bangladesh Pratidin has been popular with readers every day. Readership gets many magazines, but sustaining it is not an easy task. Bangladesh Pratidin has been able to hold on to it every day.”

“Bangladesh Pratidin has been able to show every day the importance of providing a large number of news in a small scale. The newspaper has been carrying the spirit of the liberation war since the beginning, Bangladesh Pratidin is contributing to the construction of the country and at the same time, it is working as a mirror of the society. Bangladesh Pratidin is continuously trying to call white as white, black as black, truth as truth, lie as lie,” he said.

Regarding the progress of the country and the role of the media, the information minister said, “Bangladesh has surpassed Pakistan long ago in all indicators under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We surpassed Pakistan seven-eight years ago in human development index, economic index, health index. We have also surpassed India in terms of human development index, social index, health index, per capita income.”

“In 2009 we were the 60th largest economy. It is now the 35th largest economy by GDP. Our aim is to move closer to the major economies of the world. I believe that Bangladesh Pratidin can and will play an exemplary role every day as the most circulated newspaper in the country in building a humanely prosperous state.
