Renowned Bangladeshi actress Tasnia Farin is once again making headlines beyond Bangladesh. From television dramas to web films, she has consistently captivated audience with her acting talent. Now, her arrival in Kolkata for the shooting of a new project has created a fresh buzz. The entertainment scenes of both Bengals are already abuzz with excitement over the visit of the “Karagar”-famed actress.
In an interview with an Indian media outlet, Farin was asked, “When people from Bangladesh come to Kolkata, we usually want to know what things are like there.” She responded, “Bangladesh is doing well, with a lot of quality work being produced. I’m also engaged in several projects. Film budgets have risen significantly compared to the past. While there are still concerns about the number of cinema halls, overall, the situation is positive.”
When asked about the political situation, the actress responded, “I’m not politically minded. I can’t say much about these matters, nor do I wish to. I believe it’s better for an artiste to avoid commenting on such complex issues.”
Farin further added, “I’m very proud of my country—and for good reason. Our Liberation War makes me proud. We achieved independence through great struggle. The spirit of the Liberation War is in our blood, history, and traditions. Two different countries don’t mean we are different people. We can still communicate and collaborate with each other. Healthy exchanges that respect both nations’ interests are what matter most.”
On 23 October, Tasnia Farin arrived in Kolkata to shoot her new project. There, she met popular Dhallywood actor Chanchal Chowdhury, sparking rumours that the two might be working together in a Kolkata-based film. However, neither has officially confirmed the news. Farin has announced that she will return to Bangladesh in a few days.
