Bill Gates is officially heading to Indian television. The Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist is all set to make a guest appearance on Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, marking his debut in a Hindi TV show.
What began as wild internet speculation has now been confirmed through a new promo released by the show’s team.
The clip shows Gates joining Smriti Irani’s iconic character, Tulsi, via a video call. The brief exchange has Gates greeting Tulsi with a warm “Jai Shri Krishna.”
Netizens were over the moon about the news, with many commenting with joy on the post.
“This is a historic moment..”
Smriti Irani also spoke about the collaboration in an interview with CNBC TV-18. She said, “To bring together one of the world’s most respected global voices with one of Indian television’s most influential storytellers is more than a collaboration — it is the start of a Jan Andolan, a people’s movement rooted in awareness, empathy, and action.”
She further added, “This is a historic moment in Indian entertainment. For far too long, women and children’s health has remained on the margins of mainstream dialogue. This initiative is a powerful step towards changing that.”
This will be Bill Gates’s second-ever TV appearance, after his cameo on the popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
