Popular singer Tahsan Khan released the last song of his musical career, “Prakritik,” on Saturday, marking his birthday.
The song was unveiled on the Facebook page and YouTube channel of Porcelina Ceramics, the sponsoring organisation. Fans can also enjoy the track on Tahsan’s own YouTube platform.
Originally featured in the popular album “Utshober Por” by the band Black in 2003, “Prakritik” was first performed as a duet by John Kabir and Tahsan Khan.
After 22 years, the song returns in a refreshed arrangement—reviving old memories with the voice of an artist bidding farewell to his musical journey.
This time, Tahsan performs the number solo. While the lyrics and melody remain unchanged, the new version enriches the original with modern instrumental layers and contemporary sound design.
Released under the banner of Porcelina, the track concludes the series “Porcelina Tahsan’s Playlist.” Announcing the release, Porcelina wrote on Facebook: “Tahsan’s last released song — a heartfelt chapter closing with melodies that defined a lifetime of music.”
Through this playlist project, several of Tahsan’s most popular songs were reimagined and re-released. Before “Prakritik,” seven of his tracks had already been introduced in new musical arrangements.
The new version of “Prakritik” includes guitar work by Tousif Mustaba Shourin and Rajib Gosh, bass by Robiul Islam Robi, cajon by Mritunjoy Shetu, piano by Rizvi Adit, and zurna by Ayon Islam Oli. The lyrics were written by Emon Zubaer. The latest rendition was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Sound Hacker, comprising Md. Rizvi Rahman and Shariful Islam.
Meanwhile, Tahsan will also appear at the event “Paragon Catering Wedding Carnival” to be held at the Gulshan Shooting Club Convention in Dhaka on 6, 7, and 8 November. The singer is set to inaugurate the event and perform live.
