Popular Bangladeshi music band Aurthohin has made a powerful return to the country’s rock scene with “Phoenixer Diary 2”.
The album was released worldwide on Friday with a new sound and storytelling style.
The “Phoenixer Diary 2”, filled with emotion, darkness, and the spirit of revenge, portrays a musical journey of transformation—from the rebirth of the Phoenix to an image of destruction. Each song in the album unfolds a narrative, with melodies that echo pain, loss, and a call for vengeance.
The album is available on major streaming platforms, including YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and Qobuz.
With “Phoenixer Diary 2,” Aurthohin introduces a new sub-genre of Bangla rock titled Bangla Nu Rock. The album features international collaborations, including Grammy-nominated guitarist Frank Gambale, saxophonist Bob Franceschini, bassist Babbie Lewis, and Ahnaf Salehin, son of Aurthohin’s frontman and bassist Saidus Salehin Suman (Bassbaba Suman).
The album is dedicated to the memory of late sound engineer and artiste AK Ratul.

The highly anticipated album “Phoenixer Diary 2” has been released three years after the release of “Phoenixer Diary 1”. The album “Phoenixer Diary 1” was released in 2022, marking their return after a six-year hiatus due to frontman Sumon’s health struggles. The album featured eight tracks and signaled a powerful comeback for one of the country’s most iconic rock acts.
