Acclaimed filmmaker Tanim Noor is set to adapt one of Humayun Ahmed’s classic stories for the big screen. The upcoming film, titled “Bonolota Express”, is based on Humayun’s novel “Kichukkhon”.
Tanim Noor, who received widespread praise for his Eid-ul-Azha release “Utsab”, officially announced the project on Tuesday night through a 52-minute motion video on his Facebook page.
“After Utsab, our new gift for the audience is ‘Bonolota Express’. This movie is based on the novel ‘Kichukkhon’ by the magician Humayun Ahmed. Special thanks to the band Aurthohin for giving new meaning to our movie. The film is coming next Eid. I hope you will love Bonolota Express as much as—or even more than—you loved Utsab. Don’t miss this train!”
According to sources, the star-studded cast includes Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Shariful Razz, and Sabila Nur. Although the artistes or director have yet to make public statements about the project, their collaboration has already sparked strong anticipation among fans.
In addition to these four leading performers, the film will feature another major character, whose name remains undisclosed.
If all goes according to plan, shooting for “Bonolota Express” will begin in December at various locations in and outside Dhaka, with a significant portion of the story set aboard a train.
The film is slated for release on Eid-ul-Fitr 2026.
Notably, “Bonolota Express” will reunite powerhouse actors Mosharraf Karim and Chanchal Chowdhury on the big screen after their memorable pairing in the acclaimed film Television.
