The vibrant celebration of Bangla literature and culture is set to take place at The Mayfair Venue in Romford, London on Sunday, October 19.
Organized by Udichi's UK chapter, the ‘London Bangla Book Fair and Cultural Festival’ will see legendary Bangladeshi singer Sabina Yasmin light up the stage with her timeless melodies.
Popularly known as the "bird of songs," Sabina Yasmin arrived in the UK on Sunday.
She will perform some of her most cherished songs, with musical accompaniment by acclaimed artists from both Bangladesh and the UK. Among those joining her from Bangladesh are well-known musicians Chandan Dutta and Monowar Hossain Tutul.
Moushumi Bhowmik from West Bengal, are set to share the same stage.
Speaking about the event, Sabina Yasmin said, “It’s heartening to see how our brothers and sisters abroad are working to promote Bangladeshi culture. Whenever I perform on a foreign stage, it feels like a piece of Bangladesh is right in front of me. I will try my best to win the hearts of the audience, as I always strive to do.”
The 16th edition of the London Bangla Book Fair and Cultural Festival will be a day-long event divided into two sessions.The first session, from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM, will feature poetry recitations, children’s performances, and various cultural activities.The second session, from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM, will host the main musical performances, including that of Sabina Yasmin.
Sabina Yasmin is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on October 25 following the event.
