Legendary Bangladeshi rock band Aurthohin is gearing up for the global release of their much-anticipated album “Phoenixer Diary 2.”
The band officially announced the release date and shared details of an exclusive secret listening event for fans at a restaurant in the capital on Tuesday.
The album will drop worldwide on 17 October across major streaming platforms, including YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and Qobuz. Ahead of the launch, Aurthohin has also announced a special “Secret Listening Party” for their devoted fanbase, known as Oddbhut, set for 10 October.
A glimpse of what’s to come arrived earlier this month with the release of “Unmad” — a track from Phoenixer Diary 2 — on the band’s YouTube channel on 2 October.
While “Phoenixer Diary 1” chronicled the Phoenix’s endurance and rebirth, the sequel delves into the creature’s descent into darkness. Torn apart by loss and rage, the Phoenix evolves from a symbol of hope into one of vengeance. The band promises a record that is “darker, more intense, and musically richer” than its predecessor.
The album features collaborations with several world-renowned musicians, including Grammy-nominated guitarist Frank Gambale, saxophonist Bob Franceschini (known for his work with Mike Stern and Paul Simon), bassist Bubby Lewis (who has worked with Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder, and Dr. Dre), and Ahnaf, son of Aurthohin frontman “Bassbaba” Sumon.
“Phoenixer Diary 2” is dedicated to the memory of late music director and artist A K Ratul.
