Popular actor Sadika Parvin Popy-starrer film “Direct Attack” is finally hitting theatres nationwide on 17 October. Directed by Sadek Siddiqui, the film had faced multiple delays, but the director has confirmed that the release date is now final.
The movie’s release had been postponed several times, with Siddiqui citing delays linked to the actors’ absence from public life. “We had planned to release the film multiple times before, but due to circumstances, we had to hold off. However, this time it is happening for sure,” said Sadek Siddiqui.
Popy, who plays a pivotal role in the movie, has kept a low profile and has not been involved in promotional activities for the film. Siddiqui acknowledged that the actor has withdrawn from the industry for now and there have been no recent communications. He added, “I was waiting for Popy, and I had hoped to release the movie with her involvement. But at this point, I cannot wait any longer, and I have decided to release the film on my own.”
The movie, “Direct Attack”, explores themes of societal injustice, with Popy portraying a determined police officer standing up against corruption. The film also stars Amin Khan, Mamnun Hasan Emon, Anik Rahman Ovi, Shirin Shila, and others.
Popy’s last film, “The Director”, was released in 2019, and since then, no other films featuring the actor have been released. The shooting of two other movies, “Bhalobasar Prajaprati” and “Kathgoray Sarat Chandra”, directed by Raju Alim and Arifur Zaman Arif respectively, have been delayed indefinitely due to Popy’s absence.
