Model and actress Tangia Zaman Methila has been crowned Miss Universe Bangladesh 2025 at a glittering ceremony held Thursday night at the Aloki Green House in the capital’s Tejgaon.
National Film Award-winning actress Tama Mirza and model-actress Piya Jannatul jointly placed the crown on Methila’s head in front of an enthusiastic audience.
Methila had earlier won the title in 2020, but due to the pandemic she was unable to participate in the international pageant that year. This time, she will represent Bangladesh at the 74th Miss Universe competition, scheduled to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, this November.
Dedicating her victory to her mother, Methila said, “Whatever I am today is because of my mother. She has always been my strength and inspiration. This achievement belongs to both of us.”
Looking ahead to the global stage, she added, “I want to represent Bangladesh with pride. I will do my utmost to uphold the country’s reputation with dignity, courage and respect.”
Beyond her modeling and acting career, Methila is recognised for her work against child marriage and her efforts to support underprivileged children.
It may be noted that Shirin Shila and Anika Alam won the Miss Universe Bangladesh titles in 2019 and 2024, respectively.
