Jaya Ahsan–starrer new film ‘Fereshteh’ is set to release in theaters across Bangladesh. The Bangladesh-Iran joint production will premiere in all local cineplexes on September 19.
Actor–producer Sumon Faruque shared that Iranian filmmaker Morteza AtashZamzam directed the movie in various locations around Dhaka three years ago. The director has portrayed the lives of marginalized people in society through this film.
In addition to acting, Jaya Ahsan also co-produced the film. She is currently in Kolkata, attending an award ceremony there on September 7. After completing some work in Kolkata, she is expected to return to Dhaka this week to begin promotional activities for the film.
The film premiered earlier at Iran's prestigious Fajr International Film Festival and served as the opening film of the Dhaka International Film Festival 2024. It also drew praise at the International Film Festival of India in Goa.
Alongside Jaya Ahsan and Sumon Faruque, the cast includes Shahiduzzaman Selim, Shahed Ali, Rikita Nandini Shimu, Shaheen Mridha, and child artiste Sathi.
The screenplay was written by Bangladesh's Mummit Al–Rashid, who also worked on the Persian and Bangla translations with Faisal Ifraan.
