The film “Nandini”, directed by Shoibur Rahman Russell, is scheduled to be released in theatres on 12 September, following multiple postponements since its initial planned release in August last year.
Russell confirmed the 12 September release date, saying: “We have decided to release the film on this date. If everything goes well, the audience will be able to see Nandini in theatres.”
The film, starring Nazira Mou and Kolkata-based actor Indranil Sengupta in the lead roles, was originally set to be released on 2 August 2024. However, its release was deferred due to political unrest surrounding the quota movement.
The project began shooting in late 2019 but faced interruptions due to scheduling issues and the COVID-19 pandemic. The filming was eventually completed after corona pandemic and received censorship clearance in 2023.
Alongside the lead pair, the cast includes Fazlur Rahman Babu, Saeed Babu, Jayshree Kar Jaya Abdullah Rana, Shely Ahsan, and Ananda Khaled.
“Nandini” also marks the silver screen debut of Nazira Mou.
