Tamil movie's one of the most popular and influential actor Thalapathy Vijay has declared 'war' on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party BJP stating it as 'fascist BJP' and declared 'war' on this ideological enemy.
He made this comment in a message ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
The actor and politician was speaking at his party's second state convention in Parapathi, Madurai on Thursday. During this, he also vented his anger on the BJP.
The dominance of silver screen superstars in Tamil politics is not a new phenomenon. From NT Rama Rao to Jayalalithaa, Kamal Haasan to the recent Thalapathy Vijay, almost all of them have won the hearts of voters in their own style. Now, superstar Thalapathy Vijay has taken a step further towards that goal.
According to a report by the Indian media India on Friday, thousands of supporters gathered at the second state conference of his party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam - TVK in Parapathi of Madurai on Thursday (August 21). There, Vijay announced the adoption of the 'Go Alone' policy in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
Not only did he announce that he would contest on his own, he also ruled out the possibility of any alliance in the state elections. At the rally, Vijay referred to the BJP as an 'ideological enemy' and the ruling DMK as the 'only political enemy'.
He also said, “A lion is always a lion. When it roars once, its sound causes vibrations up to eight kilometers. Such a lion goes out to hunt. There are many jackals in the forest, but there is only one lion. The lion is the king of the jungle. The lion knows how to survive.”
According to political analysts in India Thalapathy Vijay is trying to bring his party as a third front in Tamil Nadu politics. Vijay is trying to present his party to the voters as an alternative to both the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the opposition AIADMK.
