Known as the "Nayak Raj", Razzak remains one of the most influential figures in Bangladeshi cinema. He began his film career in 1966 with a small role in "13 No. Feku Ostagar Lane" and rose to prominence with his performance in Zahir Raihan's Behula. His impact was further reflected in his family, with two of his three sons, Bapparaj and Samrat, following him into acting.
Among the three sons of Razzak, Bapparaj and Samrat were involved in acting, while his other son Bappy has gone abroad. Since Razzak's passing, however, visits by his family to the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) have become rare.
Reflecting this shift, it is known that no association established in BFDC has made any special arrangements around the death anniversary of Nayak Raj.
However, the media has taken the initiative to pay special tribute to Nayak Raj on this death anniversary. In particular, various TV channels have also organised various programmes on the occasion of Nayak Raj's death anniversary, which the media always does.
Over several decades, Razzak established himself as the leading hero of the silver screen, starring in numerous acclaimed films, including "Kagojer Nouka", "Rang-baaz", "Amar Jomobhumi", "Swapna Diye Ghera", 'Slogan", "Jhorer Pakhi", "Swarolipi", "Alor Michil", "Abirbhab", "Jiban Thkee Neya", "Dorpochurna", “Je Agune Puri", "Taka Ana Pai", "Nachher Putul", "Ora 11 Jon", "Obujh Mon", "Anonto Prem", " Chhutir Ghonta", "Anar Koli", "Rajnigandha", "Boro Bhalo Lok Chhilo", "Touba", "Chapa Dangaar Bou", and "Sondhi".
His younger son Samrat reflected on the decline of public observances around his father's anniversaries, saying, "As the years pass, people seem to remember less. For me, it is always a personal day of prayer. I will visit my father's grave and pray for his peace in heaven. If my father ever caused anyone any pain, I ask for forgiveness on his behalf. We do not mind whether others organise anything special or not, we simply want prayers."
Razzak's legacy continues through his contributions to cinema and the enduring affection of audiences who remember him as the true Nayak Raj of Bangladeshi film industry.
