Director Ali Zulfikar Zahedi is set to direct “Chalachitra: The Cinema”, a film exploring the lives of those in the film industry. Actor Runa Khan has joined the cast and will portray a screen actress.
Speaking about her role, Runa said discussions began last winter and she was drawn to the story after hearing it from the director.
“My character is also to my liking. As an artiste, I want to play various roles, particularly those with a touch of reality. This character is also like that,” she explained.
Runa Khan noted that the film will focus on the private lives of heroines, often unseen by audience.
“The main focus of the story will be the heroine’s off-screen life. We see them on screen, but they also have personal lives. The story of that life will be told in this movie,” she said.
Production is scheduled to begin next winter, though Runa Khan indicated filming could face some delays as preparations continue.
In addition to this project, Runa Khan is awaiting the release of three films: Masud Pothik’s “Bok”, Kaushik Shankar Das’ “Dafon” and Zahid Hossain’s “Leela Manthan”.
