Ayra Tehreem Khan is the daughter of Tahsan Rahman Khan and Rafiat Rashid Mithila, both prominent personalities in the entertainment industry who have earned widespread admiration for their singing and acting.
Following in their footsteps, Aira has inherited a natural talent for acting and has recently made her debut in the showbiz world.
On Saturday, Aira made her advertising debut alongside her mother Mithila in a commercial for Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash. Directed by Piplu R Khan, the ad features both mother and daughter as the product’s brand ambassadors.
Regarding Aira’s involvement in the advertisement, Rafiat Rashid Mithila told Kaler Kantho, “The company contacted me; they wanted to make an ad based on the story of a mother and her teenage daughter. Since we are like friends, the concept matched our real-life relationship very well. After some thought, I agreed.”
Talking about her daughter’s first acting experience, Mithila said, “Although it’s an advertisement, it still involves acting. So, this is Ayra’s first performance, and it was an important project with me. As soon as she heard the story, she agreed. Then she went through an audition, where she did very well. Still, she was a bit nervous at the start of the shooting. Thanks to the director, who managed that well. Everyone on set said her acting was very natural.”
The shooting took place in the last week of July. For both mother and daughter, the day was like any other, but Mithila mentioned that, lacking prior experience, Ayra found it quite challenging to shoot from dawn till night.
Speaking about the experience of acting with her daughter on screen, Mithila said, “Since we spend time together as mother and daughter on our days off, shooting didn’t feel like work. We worked together. However, it was very hard for Ayra. She had never done a full day of shooting before; shooting is extremely demanding. It wasn’t easy for her. Our call time was 7:30 in the morning and we shot until late at night. There were so many lights and people on set, which she wasn’t used to, and she had to perform amidst all that.”
