During the week of July 28-Aug. 3, “KPop Demon Hunters” achieved not only its seventh week on the Netflix Top 10, but became one of the streamer’s most popular titles ever.
With a total of 158.8 million views since its June 20 debut, the musical fantasy is now in fourth place on the all-time English-language films chart, outranked only by “Red Notice” (230.9 million views), “Carry-On” (172.1 million) and “Don’t Look Up” (171.4 million).
Netflix measures its all-time lists by accounting for all views in each title’s first 91 days of viewing, meaning that “KPop Demon Hunters” has seven weeks left to continue climbing higher.
“Happy Gilmore 2” was the only movie to beat “KPop Demon Hunters” during the week of July 28-Aug. 3. The Adam Sandler comedy hit 40.8 million views in its first full week on Netflix, down just slightly from the 46.7 million views it achieved in its opening weekend. In the No. 3 position after “KPop Demon Hunters” was “My Oxford Year,” which debuted with 24.6 million views in its first three days of streaming.
On the TV chart, “Untamed” appeared for the third week in a row, this time with 12.2 million views. It was followed by “The Hunting Wives” with 5.8 million views in its second week on the chart, then “Amy Bradley Is Missing” with 4.2 million views in its third week.
“Conversations With a Killer” returned to Netflix on July 30, with the new season, “The Son of Sam Tapes,” debuting with 3.4 million views in its first five days on Netflix. Season 2 of “The Sandman” was next with 2.8 million views in its fifth week on the chart.
As Netflix gears up to release Season 2 of its smash-hit “Wednesday,” Season 1 has begun seeing renewed attention. Season 1 returned to the chart at No. 6 with 2.7 million views after charting for 20 weeks in a row back in 2022. This week, it was tied with new comedy series “Leanne,” which premiered on July 31.
