A film celebrating the lives, friendships, and dreams of a group of young people,'Ural',has been released in theaters across the country to mark Friendship Day. Directed by Zobaydur Rahman, the movie began screening this Friday in four cinemas nationwide.
Actor Mahafuz Munna, one of the leads in Ural, said, "We began filming exactly two years ago on this same day. Now, it’s released in theaters on this very day. Everyone should watch this film that celebrates friendship."
Munna shared that Ural is currently being screened at Star Cineplex branches in Bashundhara, Mirpur, and Chattogram. It is also playing at Blockbuster Cinemas, Lion Cinemas, and Magic Movie Theater in Uttara.
The story and screenplay of Ural were written by Samrat Pramanik, and the film was produced by actor Sharif Siraj.
Most of the cast members are young and acting in their debut film, said director Zobaydur Rahman. The new actors include Sohel Toufiq, Shanto Chandra Sutradhar, Kabyakatha, K.M. Abdur Razzak, Karobi Dash, and Roshen Sharif, among others.
Speaking about the cast's performance, Zobaydur said, “We had budget constraints. There was no room for luxury during the shoot. However, everyone was eager to do their best. With everyone’s support, we’ve tried to create something good. Now, it’s time to see how the audience responds.”
The filming of Ural took place in 2023, in locations such as Saidpur and Parbatipur in North Bengal, as well as Narail. Friendship Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August, and like many other countries, it is observed in Bangladesh as well.
