Legendary Lalon sangeet singer Farida Parveen has been moved from the intensive care unit (ICU) to a cabin. Her son Imam Zafar Numanee informed it through Facebook.
He shared, “Amma (Farida Parveen) has just been transferred from ICU to the cabin, Alhamdulillah. The doctor said that if we cannot control the visitors, the situation will return to the same as before. I request everyone again not to crowd the hospital.”
Farida Parveen was hospitalised due to severe breathing difficulties, and her health had been declining rapidly. Her family members had been asking for prayers from the public. Fortunately, she has now been moved to a cabin.
Following her admission on 5 July, it was revealed that she had suffered a brain hemorrhage and had developed a blood infection. Her kidneys had completely failed, requiring her to undergo dialysis three times a week. At one point, she was not conscious.
As her condition worsened, she was placed in the ICU, and a medical board was later assembled to provide her with advanced treatment.
Farida Parveen’s illustrious career began in 1968 when she started performing Nazrul Sangeet as a listed artist for Rajshahi Betar. By 1973, she gained fame for her Lalon songs. In recognition of her contributions to music, she was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1987.
