Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, a legendary figure in the subcontinent, has captivated audiences with his powerful qawwali performances and soulful songs in Hindi cinema. He also enjoys a massive fan following in Bangladesh.
Recently, he lent his voice to a Bengali song titled “Tumi Amar Prem Piyasa”, featuring the talent of Bangladeshi-born British vocalist Rubayyat Jahan.
The song’s lyrics are penned by the National Film Award-winning lyricist Kabir Bakul, with the melody composed and arranged by Raja Kaasheff.
In the meantime, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Rubayyat Jahan recorded the song at Dubai’s Playback Creative Studio.
Rubayyat Jahan expressed her excitement about collaborating with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, recalling their meeting in London where he shared his enthusiasm for Bengali music. Following their conversation, Raja Kaasheff proposed this song to him, and he readily agreed. Rubayyat noted how much Rahat Fateh Ali Khan appreciated the lyrics, melody, and overall composition, stating, “This is one of the achievements of my life. I have given my best in this song, and I hope the audience will like it.”
Raja Kaasheff, the song’s composer and music director, mentioned that plans are underway to shoot the music video in various locations around London shortly before the song’s official release.
The song is produced by Dhruba Music Station (DMS), one of the country’s leading audio production companies.
