The popular magazine show 'Ityadi', created and hosted by Hanif Sanket, is set to return this month with a new episode filmed in Jhenaidah, a southern district often referred to as the gateway to southern Bangladesh.
The episode is set to be aired on Bangladesh Television (BTV) at 8:00pm on Friday.
The filming of the episode encountered some challenges due to inclement weather. Thousands of spectators gathered at the venue despite storms, heavy rain, pitch darkness and muddy roads.
This episode features a folk song composed with the lyrics and melody of Pagla Kanai, a legendary folk poet of Jhenaidah. Directed by Mehedi, the song has been performed by singers Selim Chowdhury and Tasiba.
Jhenaidah’s own musical talent Monir Khan has lent his voice to another song, featuring lyrics by Mohammad Rafiquzzaman and music composed and directed by Kishore Das.
The episode opens with a vibrant introductory song about Jhenaidah, written by Moniruzzaman Palash, a native of Shailkupa, Jhenaidah. The performance features a dance by over a hundred local dancers. The choreography was done by Mohammad Shahin Islam, with the vocals by Rajib and Tanzina Ruma. The tune was composed by Hanif Sanket himself.
A popular quiz segment led to four audience members performing a short drama in the local dialect, highlighting Jhenaidah’s famed banana and betel leaf.
This episode also presents a reports on Dattanagar Agricultural Farm, one of Asia‘s largest seed production farms, along with stories of prominent local personalities.
The upcoming episode features a host of notable actors including Babul Ahmed, Abdullah Rana, Abdul Aziz, Subhashish Bhowmik, Amin Azad, Anjuman Ara Shirin, Zillur Rahman and many more.
