Lady Gaga has added another prestigious accolade to her trophy shelf—an Emmy.
The multi-talented singer and actress has won a Sports Emmy in the Outstanding Music Direction category for her powerful Super Bowl performance of "Hold My Hand."
The emotional tribute took place on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, honoring the victims of the New Year’s attack.
Gaga delivered a stirring rendition of the Top Gun: Maverick anthem while playing the piano, accompanied by a full band and choir, reports Hindustan Times.
The moving performance was made even more poignant with Louisiana State Police troopers, New Orleans police officers, first responders, and law enforcement seated in the front row. Former NFL superstar Tom Brady also made a special appearance during the tribute.
This Emmy win marks a significant milestone in Gaga’s career as it brings her one step closer to the coveted EGOT status—winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award.
Gaga already holds multiple Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for Best Original Song ("Shallow" from A Star Is Born), leaving only a Tony to complete the entertainment industry’s rarest achievement.
The term EGOT was coined in the 1980s by actor Philip Michael Thomas, who famously predicted he’d achieve the feat in five years—though he’s yet to receive a single nomination. Only a select group of performers have accomplished the EGOT, including Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend, Viola Davis, and Elton John.
Gaga now joins the shortlist of elite artists just one award away from EGOT glory, alongside names like Helen Mirren, Hugh Jackman, Eminem, Kate Winslet, and Martin Scorsese.
With Broadway in her sights, the countdown to Gaga’s EGOT is officially on.
