Bollywood fans are in for a nostalgic treat as Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji are set to reunite on the big screen in the upcoming action thriller King, directed by Siddharth Anand.
After delivering the blockbuster Pathaan, SRK is teaming up once again with Anand for this high-octane film, which also marks the theatrical debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan, reports Pinkvilla.
In an exciting development, Rani Mukerji has joined the star-studded cast of King in a pivotal extended cameo.
According to sources close to the production, Rani will be playing the role of Suhana Khan’s mother—a character that plays a crucial role in shaping the emotional core of the story.
“It’s more than just a cameo. Her presence adds depth and drives a key narrative thread in the film,” the source revealed.
Shah Rukh and Rani have previously shared the screen in fan-favorite films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Their chemistry remains iconic, and King marks their much-anticipated reunion after several years.
Sources say Rani immediately agreed to take on the role when approached by SRK and Anand, dedicating five shooting days for the part.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma.
Shah Rukh Khan plays the role of an assassin, with Abhishek Bachchan portraying his rival.
The shoot kicks off in Mumbai on May 20, followed by an overseas schedule in Europe. King is expected to hit theatres sometime between October and December 2026.
