Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan has set the internet abuzz after being spotted in London just as filming kicks off for Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday.
The timing of his visit, coupled with Robert Downey Jr.'s confirmed return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has ignited widespread speculation that Khan could be making his long-rumored Hollywood superhero debut, reports Times of India
Khan, who shot to global fame with his iconic role in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, made a surprise visit to the cast of Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical, currently rehearsing in London ahead of its Manchester run.
Cast member Ashley Day described Khan’s visit as one filled with “love and genuine excitement,” adding that the actor took time to connect with everyone involved in the production.
While the visit appeared to be in support of the musical adaptation of the 1995 Bollywood classic, fans were quick to link SRK’s presence in London to Marvel’s ongoing Doomsday shoot.
Theories are flying, with some suggesting Khan could be involved in the multiverse-heavy storyline — even going so far as to speculate he might be playing Doctor Doom, a role long rumored to be pivotal in Marvel's next phase.
Adding fuel to the fire, global pop star Harry Styles was also seen in London around the same time. Styles, who portrayed Eros in Eternals, was spotted attending a Twenty One Pilots concert, and his stopover has renewed hope among fans for his character’s return to the MCU.
While Marvel has yet to confirm any casting updates, the buzz is reaching a fever pitch. The return of Robert Downey Jr., believed to be part of a multiverse arc involving legacy Avengers, has only heightened anticipation.
Meanwhile, back home, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing to start shooting his upcoming home production King, in which he will star alongside his daughter, Suhana Khan. Production is expected to begin in mid-May.
