After receiving a Special Mention at the 47th Moscow International Film Festival, the Bangladeshi film Mastul, directed by Mohammad Nuruzzaman, has earned an official nomination for the Life Award (Best Humanitarian Film) at the upcoming Imagineindia International Film Festival in Spain.
The 24th edition of the festival will be held in Madrid from 1 to 16 September, and “Mastul” is listed among the nominees in one of its most prestigious categories. The announcement has also been published on the festival’s official website.
“Mastul” tells the story of sailors who live afloat and navigate life aboard a ship. The film stars Fazlur Rahman Babu, Deepak Suman, Aminur Rahman Mukul, Arif Hasan, and Sifat Bannya, among others.
Its digital distribution and promotion are being handled by Tonghhor Talkies.
Regarding its release in Bangladesh, the film's director expressed his aim to screen it locally before its journey to Spain. Preparations are underway, although final details are still pending.
