Paresh Rawal, a seasoned professional with nearly four decades in the industry, is well accustomed to everything that comes with being an actor, reports Times of India.
In a recent interview, he recalled how a fabricated story about him, which he said was perhaps planted by someone who wanted to impress Salman Khan. This was at a time when Rawal was working with Khan on 'Ready'.
He said that his mother was ailing but the doctor said that he could go for a three-day shoot as she was on life-support and would be fine. However, just as he left town and went to Sri Lanka to shoot, his mother passed away.
Paresh Rawal said in an interview with 'The Lallantop', “I left, but while I was in Lanka, I found out... my sister called and said that our mother is no more... and I decided to come back immediately.”
He added, “I was sitting there and couldn't understand anything.” That's when he tried to control his emotions and asked director Anees Bazmee if he could go home. “I said, is there anything... maybe a scene or something to shoot... otherwise, I'll die... there was a small scene with Mahesh Manjrekar, and I did that.”
However, as he returned to Mumbai, a newspaper published a story saying that Rawal was reluctant to leave shoot but it was Salman who convinced him to return home for his mom's funeral. “Whoever got that written did it to please someone”.
He firmly stated that Salman Khan would never have acted that way. "I clearly remember that Salman Khan would never do such a thing... I know Salman Khan's family well... they are true-blooded."
