Theatre troupe Actomania will stage the 4th show of its new production “The Man Outside” at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital today.
Written by German author and playwright Wolfgang Borchert, the play has been translated by Mamun Haque and directed by Talha Zubaer.
“The Man Outside” narrates the heart-wrenching story of Beckmann, a soldier returning from war. Upon returning, he discovers that his once-familiar homeland and its people feel utterly alien to him. This realisation creates deep anger and despair within him. The play delves into the question of why Beckmann harbors such resentment toward his beloved city and its people.
The cast of the play includes Sayem Sezan, Nowrin Sazzad, Fakir Biplob, Kamruzzaman Tapu, Sagar Barua and others.
