Acclaimed filmmaker from Kolkata, Srijit Mukherji who is married to actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila, has been hospitalized due to health complications.
According to local media reports, he was admitted to the hospital on Friday night after experiencing physical discomfort.
The report states that the director was suffering from dizziness and difficulty breathing. Since Saturday morning, a series of medical tests have been underway. However, the exact cause of his condition is yet to be determined.
Doctors have said that they will not be able to confirm the diagnosis or the duration of his hospital stay until all test results are in. They are also investigating whether he has any pre-existing medical conditions. However, his condition is currently stable.
Srijit's latest film ‘Killbill Society’ was released on Pahela Baishakh (the Bengali New Year). The sequel to Hemlock Society stars Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Koushani Mukherjee, and Biswanath Basu, whose performances have already garnered praise. Audiences are flocking to theaters to watch the film.
At present, Srijit is juggling multiple film and series projects. On Friday, he also announced his next film, ‘Lawho Gouranger Naam Re’, produced by Rana Sarkar. The film was initially announced jointly by the producer-director duo back in 2020, but due to various reasons, production is set to begin this year.
