Mahbub Ali Khan, the father of popular singer Monir Khan, has passed away.
He breathed his last at his home in Jhenaidah at 4:20 pm on Tuesday. He was 100 years old at the time of his death.
Monir Khan's team confirmed the news of his father's death on the singer's verified Facebook page.
It was known from the post that singer Monir Khan's father, Mahbub Ali Khan, passed away at his residence in Madanpur village of Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah district at 4:20 pm on Tuesday due to old age complicacies.
His funeral prayers will be held in his village at 11 am on Wednesday.
Monir Khan has been practicing music for the past few decades. Along with albums, he has also won the hearts of the audience by playing songs back in films. He has received several awards and honors, including the National Film Award, in recognition of his unique contribution to music. He’s still presenting new songs to the audience.
Monir Khan created a stir with his solo album 'Tomar Kono Dosh Nei' in 1996. Since then, the artist has released more than 42 solo albums. He has also released many double and mixed albums. Monir Khan has sung in many movies including 'Premer Taj Mahal', 'Lal Dariya' and 'Dui Nayaner Alo'.
