Reminders of Him
Potential release date: Scheduled for Valentine’s Day 2026
Universal Pictures is set to adapt Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him, into a feature film. Although the cast has yet to be announced, the project is already generating buzz among fans.
Like It Ends With Us, the 2022 novel has a drama-driven narrative, with fewer thriller elements, which is likely to appeal to viewers eager to see Hoover’s distinctive blend of romance and tragedy brought to life on the big screen.
The story revolves around Kenna Rowan, who returns to her hometown after serving a five-year sentence for a tragic mistake. Her primary goal is to reconnect with her four-year-old daughter, but she faces resistance from those close to her child. Kenna finds an unlikely ally in Ledger Ward, a local bar owner who provides a connection to her daughter. As Kenna navigates her complicated past and confronts her grief and guilt, a tentative romance blossoms between her and Ledger. With its intricate web of tragedy, mystery, and familial bonds, Reminders of Him has all the ingredients for a compelling cinematic adaptation.
The screenplay will be penned by Hoover and Lauren Levine, her producer partner who co-runs their banner, Heartbones Entertainment.

Her husband, Jeremy, hires struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh to complete Verity’s unfinished books.
