Star Cineplex has unveiled its latest ranking of the most popular films in theatres this week, with "Priyo Maloti" leading the list of local releases and securing the second spot overall.
"Priyo Maloti" is the first film directed by Shankha Dasgupta and also the debut film for Mehazabien.
The film, starring Mehazabien Chowdhury in the role of Maloti Rani Das, has garnered significant attention, not only for its storyline but also for the actress’s standout performance. Mehazabien’s portrayal of the strong-willed Maloti has been widely praised by critics and audiences alike.
"Priyo Maloti", which came out on December 20, features a cast that includes Nader Chowdhury, Azad Abul Kalam, Momena Chowdhury, Somu Chowdhury, Anisul Haque Borun, Shahjahan Samrat, and Rizvi Rizu.
This week, "Mufasa: The Lion King" took the top spot on Star Cineplex's list, while "Moana 2" ranked third. "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" came in fourth, followed by "840" in fifth, "Kraven the Hunter" in sixth, and "Nakshi Kanthar Zamin" in seventh.
