State Minister for Health Dr MA Muhit on Sunday said ensuring vaccination for all children is crucial to keeping them safe and healthy, as the government accelerates efforts to prevent measles, reports UNB.
He said the government is working swiftly and sincerely to ensure adequate supply of measles vaccines, addressing any shortages and assuring that there will be no crisis.
The state minister made the remarks while inaugurating an emergency measles-rubella vaccination programme at the Bhawal Mirzapur Union Parishad grounds in Gazipur Sadar upazila.
He highlighted the support of several global health organisations for the campaign and called for public participation to make it a success.
According to the civil surgeon office, the campaign targets children aged 6 to 59 months, with around 28,000 doses to be administered across Gazipur over the next 15 days.
Vaccination activities are being conducted in Sadar, Tongi, Konabari, Kashimpur, Kaliakair, Sreepur, Kapasia, Kaliganj and Pubail areas.
Simultaneously, this vaccination campaign started across 30 upazilas in 18 districts, including Gazipur.
