Bangladesh has been ranked 181st in the 2024 edition of the Nomad Passport Index, released on Friday by global consultancy firm Nomad Capitalist.
The index evaluates the strength of 200 passports worldwide, taking into account not only visa-free access but also factors such as taxation, global perception, and personal freedoms.
Bangladeshi passport holders can currently travel to 50 countries either visa-free or by obtaining a visa on arrival. The country scored 38 out of a possible 110.
Neighbouring Nepal ranked just above Bangladesh with a score of 39.5, while Myanmar followed closely behind at 182nd with 37.5 points.
India held the 148th position with a score of 47.5, whereas Pakistan ranked near the bottom at 195th, scoring 32.
Ireland has claimed the top spot for the first time with a score of 109, edging out traditional European frontrunners such as Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Sweden.
