Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Jahangir Alam has said that this year’s Eid journey was free from black-market ticket sales, as strict monitoring prevented any syndicates from operating.
Speaking at a press briefing after inspecting Kamalapur Railway Station on Sunday, he said, “Every year, ticket scalping syndicates emerge during Eid, often involving railway staff. However, this time, no one dared to engage in such activities due to heightened surveillance.”
The Adviser said, “I have visited the station and seen that the trains have left on time. There is no delay in any train. The second thing is that there is no black market here. And no one is facing any problem in getting tickets.”
He also highlighted improvements in road travel, stating that previous issues like extortion and forced vehicle stoppages were absent this time. “No one had the opportunity or courage to engage in such misconduct, and law enforcement personnel have remained highly active,” he added.
